Important: Not All Lifetime Licenses Can Be Moved
Having a Lifetime license does not automatically mean it can be transferred to another computer.
Some older PDF Extra Lifetime licenses are transferable and can be moved between PCs (one device at a time), while newer lifetime licenses are device-bound and remain permanently linked to the first computer where they were activated.

The following Lifetime plans can be used on one desktop device at a time and can be moved to another PC when needed:
- PDF Extra 2020
- PDF Extra 2021
- PDF Extra 2023
- PDF Extra Lifetime
Non-Transferable License (Device-Bound)
MobiPDF Lifetime
This version cannot be moved to another computer. It is permanently linked to the first device on which it was activated and can only be used on that desktop device for the lifetime of the device.
If the original computer is replaced, lost, damaged, or no longer accessible, the license cannot be transferred to a new PC.
How to Move an Eligible Lifetime License
Before you begin: These steps apply only to transferable Lifetime licenses listed above. If your license is device-bound (MobiPDF Lifetime), it cannot be moved to another computer.
To move your eligible license:
- Sign in to your MobiSystems Account.
- Go to Subscriptions and Products and locate your Lifetime license.
- Click View > Linked devices > Remove to unlink the current device.
- Download and install PDF Extra on your new PC.
- Sign in using the same email address linked to your license.
- Once signed in, your license will activate automatically.

I have a Lifetime license. Can I move it to another computer?
Not always. Having a Lifetime license does not automatically mean it is transferable. Some Lifetime licenses are movable, while others are device-bound and cannot be transferred to a new PC.
My old computer stopped working. Can I still move my license?
You can move your license only if you have an eligible transferable Lifetime plan. Device-bound licenses cannot be reactivated on another computer, even if the original device is no longer usable.
