When signing from "Fill & Sign"
When using "Fill & Sign" we automatically save a flattened copy. This combines layers, signatures, and markup into a single layer for security, printing, and reduced file size. This is done so someone does not overwrite your signature or forms after you share a file. However, flattened documents cannot be further edited in the free app,
Solution:
- If you want a signature that can be further edited please use "Home" -> "Quick Signature" instead of "Fill & Sign"
- When using "Fill & Sign" the application has a warning prompting you to use "Save As" to save the flattened file as a copy.
When using a digital Signature
The application will NOT remove any digital signature if you're not the owner of a signature. This is normal behavior adherent to the PDF standard.
Solution:
- See How to edit a difitally signed PDF file to find out the limitations that digital signatures place on PDF files
- If you're the owner of the signature, then please make sure you've imported the signature's digital certificate on your local machine. This way our app will recognize you as the owner and allow you to remove the signature. For more info please check our User Guide
