Copy and Paste Text in MobiDocs on Windows

Using keyboard shortcuts - Select the text you want to copy by clicking and dragging your mouse over it, and then press Ctrl + C to copy it to the clipboard. You can then place your cursor where you want to paste the copied text and press Ctrl + V.

Using the mouse - Select the text you want to copy by clicking and dragging your mouse over it, and then right-click the text and select Copy from the menu. You can then right-click where you want to paste the copied text and select Paste.

Using the ribbon - Select the text you want to copy by clicking and dragging your mouse over it, and then click Edit on the top ribbon. You can then click where you want to paste the copied text and select Paste from the same location.

Paste options

Pasting options allow you to control how text and formatting are applied when you paste content into your document.

• Use Theme Formatting: This option pastes the text exactly as it was copied, including all original fonts, colors, and styles. It's useful when you want the content to retain its original appearance.
• Merge Formatting: This option adapts the pasted content to match the formatting of the document you are pasting into, ensuring a consistent look. This is helpful for keeping the style uniform across your document.
• Keep Text Only: This pastes only the text, removing all formatting, links, and styles. It's ideal when you want clean, unformatted text that you can style as needed in your document.
• Picture: Pastes the text as a picture, as if it is a screenshot.
• Paste Special: This option gives you more control over how the content is pasted, allowing you to choose between formats like Formatted Text (RTF), Unformatted Text, and others, depending on the source content.
